What will you be learning?
This is the full Portable Appliance Testing course. A fast track course is also available (code 3669). You will learn about: Electricity at work; regulations relating to portable appliance testing; awareness of shock risk; categories or classes of portable appliances; categories of testing; frequency of testing; responsibilities of the person carrying out the testing; record keeping and labelling of appliances; understanding appliance rating plates; visual inspection of appliances, leads, connection, plug tops and fuses; practical session testing appliances and problems and pitfalls. The programme will be a combination of learning about relevant legislation and putting it into practice. You will be required to demonstrate an ability to inspect and test an item of equipment and correctly record the results.
