You will learn how to use using Oracle SQL Developer and how to install and configure Oracle client and server software. You will learn SQL in-depth so that you will be able to write the SQL statements that retrieve and update the data in an Oracle database.

It also teaches you how to work with complex inner and outer joins, summary queries, sub queries, data types, and functions…all features that allow you to retrieve and update data more efficiently. You will learn how to design an Oracle database and you how to code SQL DDL (Data Definition Language) statements to implement the design, to create views, and to manage security.

In today's increasingly global and digital world, you may need to handle time zones from around the world, and you may need to handle large amounts of text and binary data such as graphics, sound, and video you will learn how to manage these tasks easily and professionally.

Once you have mastered the course proceeds to PL/SQL. You learn to create PL/SQL blocks of application code that can be shared by multiple forms, reports, and data management applications. Students learn to create anonymous PL/SQL blocks as well as stored procedures and functions. Students learn to develop, execute, and manage PL/SQL stored program units such as procedures, functions, packages, and database triggers. Students learn the basic functionality of how to debug functions and procedures using the SQL Developer Debugger. Students also learn to manage PL/SQL subprograms, triggers, declaring identifiers and trapping exceptions. Students are introduced to the utilization of some of the Oracle-supplied packages. Additionally students learn to use Dynamic SQL, understand design considerations when coding using PL/SQL, understand and influence the PL/SQL compiler, and manage dependencies.
