Leisure Course

Who is the course for?
The course is for people with an interest in learning and developing skills in ceramics/pottery. It is suitable for beginners and the experienced.

What is the course about?
This qualification enables you to develop and extend a range of creative skills in the production of ceramic objects. You will cover techniques from simple pinch pots through to coiling, slab building, sculptural work and various types of glazing.

Will I need anything else?
Clay, glazes and ceramics equipment will be provided but you will need to purchase a folder and paper.

How long & often do I attend?
The course is 2 hours per week for 10 weeks three terms per academic year.

How will I be assessed?
The course will consist of practical work only and a college certificate will be provided. Your tutor will advise and guide you in doing this.

What opportunities will this lead to?
On completion of this course you may wish to study alternative programmes within Creative Arts area at Level 1 or above.
