Course programme

The electric pallet forklift truck is a handy and compact pallet trans-porter which is used all over the UK and beyond. This type of lift truck is normally overlooked when it comes to training in the work place. It does not
look dangerous or powerful but in fact it is a major course of accidents. If a motorised type is in operation at your premises then a licence is required by the operator. Most motorised versions have a capability of 1 Tonne and some 2 Tonne to a height of 3 or 4 meters. The style of the Powered pallet truck is important when deciding the required level of training. In principal it is usually a 1 day course however if a candidate has no experience of the powered pallet truck, and because it lifts more than 5 Tonne with its use involving an element of Reach/Counterbalance operation the candidate may need 1 more days training.

What does the course cover?

  • Fork Lifts and the Law
  • Operator's Safety Code
  • Battery Charging and maintenance
  • Basic & Advanced Steering, Stacking, De-stacking,
  • Picking Up & Setting Down
  • Theory Test
  • Major Component Identification, Pre-use Inspection & Reporting
  • Practical Skills Test

When an operator has successfully completed the course they will have been educated in relevant legislation, will have demonstrated correct operational procedure to RTITB standards and will receive a Certificate of Basic Training, Operator's photo-card ID, Training record and copies of all course work.
