What is this course about? This course is a basic introduction to teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector. It covers practical aspects of teaching under-pinned by some theory. You are asked to demonstrate practical skills by teaching your peer group for 30 minutes.,

Who is this course for? This course is for anyone who wished to teach post 16 year olds. It is available as both pre- and in-service.

What do I need to get on the course? You need to have at least Level 2 in English language and be qualified in the subject you wish to teach., ,

What will I study? You will study practical planning and teaching and learning methods and consider the context of teaching in FE and its implications., , ,

What qualification will I get? The PTLLS - this is now obligatory for anyone wishing to teach in post 16 education or training. If you then wish to progress to the Diploma then you will get 6 credits ( out of 120) recognised towards the Diploma.

What can I do after the course? If you have a limited teaching role (eg trainer/instructor using prepared materials, or an assessor) then you should take the Certificate course: Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS).
If you are teaching/intend to teach with full responsibility as a teacher in further or adult education then you need to do the Diploma course: Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS).

How much does the course cost? Concessionary students pay a £35 annual registration charge which covers any courses where concessions are available.
