Course Title:

PTTLLS - Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning
Sector for Teachers/Tutors/Trainers

Overview:

This award is for anyone wanting to enter teaching in the lifelong learning sector. This includes those working in community-based learning and development programmes, employment and workbased learning as well and those in teaching and training in the HE and FE sectors. It will also be applicable to those already working in a teaching/training role that will require a license to practice from September 2007. APL will be considered.

Course Content:

• An understanding of the role, its responsibilities and
  boundaries in relation to teaching
• An understanding and the ability to demonstrate
  appropriate teaching and learning approaches in specialist
  areas
• Session Planning skills
• An understanding on how to deliver inclusive sessions
  which motivate learners
• An understanding of the use of different assessment
  methods and the need for record keeping

Course Duration: Four day training course.

Certificate: Following successful moderation of assignment, delegates will be certificated with an Edexcel Level 3 BTEC Award in Preparing to
Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector a, 6 credit, level 3 qualification.
