Presentation Skills using Microsoft PowerPoint

Introduction
Creating the right impact can turn an ordinary presentation into a dynamic one. Unfortunately presentations are often let down by the misuse of the supporting graphical or textual images usually created these days by Microsoft PowerPoint. This course is designed to address this issue by showing you how to effectively combine your verbal delivery with PowerPoint in order to achieve a high quality professional presentation.

• Do's and don'ts of preparing and presenting with PowerPoint
• What do you like to see in a presentation?
• What aspects of a PowerPoint presentation do you hate and why?
• What is more important â€" the message or media?
• Keeping to the point â€" purpose, audience and content
• A picture says a thousand words â€" using appropriate images
• Class not crass â€" using appropriate visual effects to enhance your presentation
• Visual Aid 1 â€" you!

Suitability

This course is suitable for people who are experienced in presenting to an audience but have not yet mastered the techniques of using Microsoft PowerPoint to maximise the effectiveness of their presentation. Delegates should have enough knowledge of Microsoft Powerpoint in order to create basic slides. Delegates will have the opportunity to work with a presentation of their own so they should bring along to the course a 5 minute presentation on CD Rom or Memory Stick.

Assessment

No formal assessment.
Candidates who complete the programme will receive a City College Coventry Certificate of completion.
There is also an optional CMI accreditation at Level 3
