Reviews
Course programme
This modular programme is based on a study of leadership and values, change management and research methods. There are three compulsory courses followed by a choice from a wide variety of taught courses, then progressing to a supervised thesis.
Study for up to seven years is permitted to complete the modular MSc degree programme, although students can qualify for a certificate or diploma with a shorter period of study. The mandatory core module "Working Together Creatively" is also available as a single course and concentrates on the importance of multi-disciplinary team work in promoting change and innovation in primary care. The other compulsory courses are "Ethics in Practice" and "Using Evidence in Practice".
Teaching
Teaching in this department is delivered in small groups in Aberdeen but some individuals may also be permitted to participate from certain other sites by pre-arranged video-conferencing at the same times.
Meetings for the core course "Working Together Creatively" take place as four (separate) whole days in Aberdeen. Meetings for the two other compulsory courses are on twelve occassions on the same day of the week between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.
Tutor roles are designed to facillitate learning during the meetings and to provide ongoing support.
A wide choice of optional modules can be studied, following agreement by the Programme Co-ordinator, including distance learning options and also courses at other institutions.
Dedication
48 or 60 months, part-time (modular multi-professional, multi-institutional programme).
