On this PGCE course, you will be prepared to teach 5-11 year olds. You'll also specialise within a particular age range, but with an additional focus on teaching and learning mathematics. On this course, you will follow the same components as your peers on the Primary PGCE course. You'll be working with children as their enthusiasm really comes to the surface and reveals the individuals they are likely to become. The programme runs for 38 weeks which includes 120 days of school-based experience in partnership schools, spread across all three terms. You will get experience from two main school placements and teach in two age bands (depending on your chosen age specialism). The placements are in contrasting schools to give you a breadth of school-based experience, and in at least one of your placements you'll be supported by one of the specialist maths tutors at UEA.
