This course is designed to introduce students to the primates of the world, their evolution, their physical make-up and habitats. It aims to equip participants with a solid grounding in primate studies and is favourably received by the anthropology department of Oxford Brookes University and introduced by Prof Simon Bearder of Oxford Brookes University. (price band B) (level 2)

Course Modules

1. What is a primate?
This module focuses on the evolution of primates, how they are classified and many more essential facts to provide the underpinning knowledge for this course. Modules 2 – 6 look at specific families or groups of families. The subject matter will be similar in each case except that there are many different angles depending on the species being studied. Where in the world they are found, their particular habitat, diet, size and individual characteristics are but a few of the interesting facts that will be covered.
