  • Thanks for the good news and please tell everyone on the ISICO Team thank you. This has been a wonderful course. I teach some courses at Logan and I have been able to integrate much of what I have learned in my courses. In addition, at many conferences, I have suggested and recommended ISICO and SOSORT to many colleagues.

About this course

Educational goals:
-To be able to follow with a good quality standard patients affected by spinal deformities, mainly during growth
- A complete knowledge of the theoretical basis
- Learning of the evaluation approach and the treatment choice process
- Deep knowledge of treatment basics according to the main currently existing techniques
- Knowledge and prescription terms of the conservative treatments, with a specific focus on SEAS (exercises) and SPoRT (braces).

The PPSCT has been designed principally for physicians, to address their need of a comprehensive view of the state-of-the-art in the diagnosis and prescription in this field, but also other categories involved in the treatment of this pathology may claim for this knowledge. Thus we enlarge the field and accept submissions by other professionals, like physiotherapists, orthotists etc., provided that the applicants are aware that a medical background is given for granted in the various learning activities.

The course is linked to a grading process based on the assignment of points determined by the active participation to the live sessions and to the Focus Groups. The achievement of a required number of points is mandatory to get at least the Attendance Certificate.
Those who have reached the established threshold of points are also entitled to participate to the Final PPSCT Examination and passing the examination, they will achieve the PPSCT Certificate according to their profession

Course programme

The PPSCT Course is entirely delivered online, through the dedicated Online Learning Platform. The Course is organized in 12 Modules, each one lasting two weeks. Each Module includes three recorded Theoretical Lectures (each one about 45 minutes), self-administered by the Students, at a time suitable to them. The Lecture recommends 2 to 3 scientific papers, to be read to complete the task.

Each Module includes three Focus Groups where specific topics linked to the theme of the current Module are discussed to enhance the students’ participation and to improve the learning process. The Students state their opinion and support it with appropriate quotations to justify their position and to uphold it with the colleagues.

Each Module ends with an Online Live Session held by a coordinator, presenting clinical cases selected accordingly to the Module topics and the Focus Groups discussions. This is the only appointment that requires to be connected live at a specific date/time (every two weeks for about 1,5 hour).
