This nationally accredited NCFE distance learning qualification in End of Life Care is designed to develop knowledge and understanding of how to work in end of life care. This home study course covers a range of topics including the support needed to manage pain and discomfort, how dementia impacts on end of life care, the role of the care worker at time of death and the loss and grief process.

COURSE OVERVIEW

How is the course structured?The NCFE Level 2 Principles of End of Life Care course is divided into five units. These are :

Unit 1: Understand how to work in end of life care
This unit helps the learner understand different attitudes to death and dying, the aims of and approaches to end of life care and the support services available.

Unit 2: Understand how to provide support to manage pain and discomfort
This unit covers the knowledge and skills needed in order to provide support for managing pain and discomfort, this includes how to minimise pain and the approaches to managing pain.

Unit 3: End of life care and dementia
Learners will gain an awareness of the impact dementia can have on an individual’s end of life care and will learn how to support those individuals and their family and friends.

Unit 4: Understanding the role of the care worker in time of death
This unit explores the role of a care worker around the time of death of an individual, including how to support an individual, how to care for a deceased individual and legislation around this.

Unit 5: Understand loss and grief in end of life care
Learners will look at the process of loss and grief, and will gain an understanding of how to support people following bereavement and how to manage their own feelings of loss and grief.


Course Assessments

This course is marked through a process of continuous assessment guided by your tutor following NCFE guidelines. This means that your qualification will be awarded according to your performance on assessments rather than by taking an exam.

Upon verification of the activities, exercises and assignments, a certificate of achievement will be awarded by NCFE, as confirmation that your written work has met all of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for the programme

Course Fees

Our aim is to provide you with the best deal available, therefore any registration fee, certification fee and full tutor support is included in the course price for you. The enrolment fee for the Level 2 Principles of End of Life Care home study course is £412.5, though for a limited time we are offering you the opportunity to pay only £330 which is a 20% discount if you enrol online and pay in full.

You can also opt for our Easy Payment Plan and enrol online today by paying a deposit of £82.5 and then 4 equal payments of £82.5 per month. The first instalment is paid about a month after you receive your course.

A registration fee of £52.00 is due within four weeks of enrolment if you wish to receive an NCFE certificate on successful completion of your course.

Please note that certificates are issued 3 times per year.
