Course programme
This unit is aimed at those working or looking for work in a wide range of settings. This unit introduces the important area of safeguarding individuals from abuse. It identifies different types of abuse and the signs and symptoms that might indicate abuse is occurring. It considers when individuals might be particularly vulnerable to abuse and what you must do if abuse is suspected or alleged.

What qualifications will I get?Principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care - CPD Certificate
How will I be assessed?For the City and Guilds Certificate this unit is assessed through a written assignment. You must complete the assignment to a satisfactory level to achieve the unit.
What are the entry requirements?Minimum qualifications: Entry Level
Whilst there are no formal prerequisites for entry to the qualification, you will require some study and general communication skills in order to complete the assessment requirements.
What else do I need to know?You will receive a certificate of attendance for this course.
Alternatively, you can upgrade your course for an additional fee of £40 and receive an accredited City and Guilds Unit Certificate. You will be required to take an assessment in order to achieve the City and Guilds Certificate.
This training can also be offered at the Rugby centre.
What can I do after this course?The knowledge gained through the achievement of this unit can be used as a stepping stone to the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (QCF) if employed in the sector.
