Course Overview
This subject can be taken with other GCSEs and Level 2 qualifications to make up a full-time programme.

This qualification aims to help candidates extend their creative craft skills in printing (printmaking). Examples of print processes included in the course are mono-printing, lino and experimental block printing, and screen printing.

Course Structure
The course consists of three mandatory units:

Unit 1: Use materials and resources to develop techniques.

Unit 2: Develop and adapt idea creatively.
Unit 3: Create, present and evaluate final craft item(s).

Qualification Aims
NCFE Level 2 Award in Creative Crafts

Assessments/Examinations
Although there will be set tasks to complete, candidates will be encouraged to explore and develop their own ideas for the creation of final craft item(s) and to work on a variety of different surfaces including paper, card and fabric. The coursework is internally assessed and externally moderated. There is no formal examination.

Cost / Equipment
Students over 19 may be required to pay tuition and registration fees.
Students will be required to supply some basic items of equipment (total cost around£10)

Old or protective clothing should be worn as dyes and inks will stain fabrics.
