How is the BSc Professional Aviation Pilot Practice (Tayside Aviation) taught?
The CAA, in accordance with EASA requirements, prescribes the curriculum for pilot training and the assessment of your technical and flying training is also regulated by the Authority. These requirements are fully integrated into your programme of study and are described in the module narratives in the programme handbook. The Tayside Aviation (TA) Training Handbook explains in further detail how this part of the programme will be taught.
The learning, teaching and assessment approaches used throughout your programme will encourage you to be actively involved in your learning and to co-operate with other students. Both TA and Middlesex University aim to give you prompt and constructive feedback on your learning as well as opportunities to reflect upon and learn from that feedback. You will be actively involved in a range of learning, teaching and assessment approaches, particularly at Level 6 when you enter the employment phase of your degree programme.
Blended learning approaches aim to put you at the centre of your learning where you are engaged in all aspects of your learning and assessment. Your programme will require your participation in learning activities and engagement with your peers both individually and collaboratively. Learning activities will therefore occur both within and outside the classroom and in the workplace..
Your Level 6 programme will be facilitated using a variety of media and online tools through myUniHub (e.g. online workshops, blogs, podcasts, wikis, etc.) which will allow you flexible access to a diverse range of resources and learning materials as well as collaborative tools with which you can engage and learn with your peers.
