Health and Social Care (HSC) route
The Health and Social Care route is a broad-based field of study that is geared towards social care and will extend your knowledge and understanding in this field.
This programme and route reflects the ‘QAA Draft Statement of Common Purpose for Subject Benchmarks for the Health and Social Care Professions (2004)’ by encouraging shared learning for students from a range of health and social care disciplines.
The programme’s linkage of the professional to their context focuses students’ learning on meeting the needs of clients and patients within an environment that requires effective team, inter-professional and inter-agency working and communication, as well as expert practice.
This new statement of common purpose is set out under three main headings: values in health and social care practice; the practice of health and social care; and knowledge and understanding for health and social care practice.
