Professional Fitness Instructor
This is the perfect starting point for those wishing to work at fitness instructor level within a health or leisure club, providing you with skills in the gym as well as the studio.
Not only will you learn how to induct clients onto gym equipment, but you will also learn how to provide versatile group teaching skills required to run an effective circuits class.

This well rounded and popular fitness qualification will add more strings to your bow, meaning you can increase your employability as well as your client base! It is also a great stepping stone into a personal training qualification for current instructors.

You have the choice of two of the listed CPD modules to complete with your course. This is the order in which suggest we complete your course although we do advise that you sit the assessment for Exercise and Fitness Knowledge level 2 after the Gym Instructing module.

Exercise and Fitness Knowledge Level 2
This is a distance learning module supported by workbooks and a fully interactive CD Rom which takes approximately 40 hours to complete.
Gym Instructing
This is a five day intensive module that is included in all fitness instructor courses and personal trainer courses.
Circuit Solutions
Circuit training continues to be a popular exercise class found in all health clubs.
Group Studio Cycling
Group cycling classes are some of the most popular classes in gyms today.
Core Stability
This is a one day practical workshop. It includes all the skills to deliver exercise variables utilising the stability ball either in a group or one-to-one environment.

Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements for this course, although we recommend that you have knowledge or experience of the gym and class environment prior to the course.

Assessment and certification
The award is assessed against the National Standards for Exercise and Fitness. Students will be required to sit a theory paper as well as completing a practical gym assessment and two CPD workshops. The award leads to the Lifetime Professional Fitness Instructor Award and entry to REPs at level 2. Save £5 on your REPs membership with Lifetime.
