Welcome to Central Tiling Training course.

Introduction to the training course, health and safety procedures.

General chat (what you hope to achieve).

Meet your trainer.

Introduction to the training area including use of tools, workstations and procedures.

You are taught all about the preparation at this stage; depending on what level you enter the course, you will be shown how to measure and position your tiles.

The first week also includes 2 days on the walls and 2 days on the floors, incorporating all the tricks of the trade to give you the confidence to start the next stage.

Friday of the first week will be spent working on measuring and calculating tiles for any projects you undertake, we also take you through the different grouts and adhesives available, incorporating feedback from the students and the trainer.

The course will finish at approximately 12pm on the Friday.

Week Two

This week we will move to the walls again with what you were taught in the previous week. We incorporate the difference in materials and introduce more complex patterns.

During this week we will look at the best tools for the tradesman, and there will be an opportunity to order or purchase your own tools.

Friday of this week, we will get together and incorporate our business package i.e. introduction to book keeping, how to tender for jobs, advertising, customer service etc...

Once again, not all students opt for this particular package and it does depend on your circumstances.

The course will end approximately 12pm on the Friday.

Week Three

After selecting a new workstation you will be given a project to complete in the booth, walls and the floor either on your own or with a fellow student should you choose.

Your trainer will assess you, if necessary he will bring you back to the stages you are unsure of.

The course will finish at approximately 4.30pm on the Thursday of this week.

Week Four

Most students on our four-week course opt to go on site for this week, subject to availability and location. During this week you will get the opportunity to work alongside professional tilers working within the construction industry. This gives you the chance to find out how the working environment of a tiler ticks along.

Some students may get a chance to fix tiles or just do some labouring or grouting, depending on the site circumstances.

The object of this period in the course is to gain you on site experience, health and safety awareness and gives you the chance to talk to some of the real professional tilers that have chosen to make their living within the construction industry.

Friday you will receive your certificates of competence and have the chance to talk through all aspects relating to your course.

The session will finish approximately 12pm.

During the length of the course you will have the use of all materials and tools. Our aim is to make learning this trade as informative and enjoyable as possible.
