What is a Programme?

A Programme is a group of related projects that are managed in a well co-ordinated manner to ensure that the expected benefits to the organisation are achieved. Grouping these projects together into a programme allows for them to be managed in a way that is more controlled than if they were managed individually.

This is usually done with a group of complex projects that are all undertaken within the same organisation and are all aimed at creating the required product.

What does a Programme Manager do?

A Programme Manager oversees all the teams that are working on the various related projects to produce the required product. Whilst the day-to-day running of each project is the responsibility of the Project Manager/s, the Programme Manager manages the co-ordination between the teams to ensure that all the projects are successfully completed.
