What is this course about? ESOL courses are for people whose first language is not English. , As well as the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing, all our courses help you prepare for employment. ,
What do I need to get on the course? Your level of English will be assessed.
What will I study? This is a general English course. Learners will develop their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Some lessons will focus on the topic of progression. For example, learners will talk about progressing onto other courses and progressing at work. Learners will work towards Cambridge ESOL Skills for Life exams.
How do I get on the course? Come in to the Centre where you want to study to make an appointment to have your level of English assessed: Centre for Lifelong Learning - Monday to Thursday 10am-7pm, Friday 10am-1pm. Sixth Form College ¿ Mondays to Thursday 5pm.
How much does the course cost? ESOL courses are free if you are on income-based benefits, eg income support or housing benefit.
