About this course

Delegates should have good working knowledge of Project 2003 and will ideally have completed the Project Level 1 course. They should feel at ease setting up basic plans in Project, using tasks & resources and switching between the many views of the plan in Project itself.

Course Overview

This course is aimed at those delegates who have fairly good understanding of both Project Management, and also, how to use Microsoft Project. It introduces more advanced topics of the software, specifically multiple project handling, group working, and customisation.
Prerequisites
  • Delegates should have good working knowledge of Project 2003 and will ideally have completed the Project Level 1 course.
  • They should feel at ease setting up basic plans in Project, using tasks & resources and switching between the many views of the plan in Project itself.

    Delegates will be able to :

  • Use advanced scheduling to manipulate multiple task types and features
  • Use complex task features, lag, lead, delay, summary linking etc
  • Use advanced resource / cost / time management, including manual contouring
  • Manage Project Consolidation
  • Handle master projects, insert sub projects, linked or detached
  • Schedule using resource pooling across projects, as opposed to dedicated resources
  • Cross link projects, for task and resource management

  • Have a full baseline / interim plan appreciation
