PROJECT MANAGEMENT Entry Requirements
An interview is required. You should already be praticing project management.
Description
Project Management Professional (PMP) is a stand alone qualification and can complement Prince2 qualification. This award is competency based as well as the ability to complete a theory exam on completion of the course content. It involves understanding how to lead projects as well as practical application across many teams and disciplines within a project.
Course Content
· Initiating processes - looks at evaluating feasibility of the products or services, identify key stakeholders and confirm scope, risks, assumptions and constraints
· Planning processes - begins to identify project members, roles and responsibilities; work structures and business acumen, cost, schedules and resources. Compile project plan for approval and arrange meeting to present plan to all stakeholders. Record project requirements, risks and constraints. Finally develop and change management plan
· Executing processes - proactive management in executing the tasks to achieve pre-determined goals. Improving team performance and implement quality management plan
· Monitoring and controlling processes - measuring project performance, monitoring project costs and risk logs. Ensuring quality of deliverables
· Closing processes - obtaining final acceptance for the project. Archive all project logs and material. Obtain financial closure, create final report and lessons learnt. Finally measure customer satisfaction
Where a course is aimed towards an assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for the qualification.
Method of Assessment
Various tasks are given throughout the training which are assessed by the tutors and feedback given. There is a mock exam in the classroom and feedback given. A final exam consisting of an online multiple choice question paper which is sat at accredited centres in Bournemouth or London.
