This course will provide opportunities for individuals to become successful leaders in the field of project management, addressing a range of complex project management issues using different international and organisational examples. Through a combination of taught modules, industry guest lectures and internship/dissertation project, students will have the opportunity to acquire both the technical and people skills required to become an effective project manager.

WHY CHOOSE THIS COURSE?
The MSc Project Management focusses on developing students understanding of the management of projects at a strategic level. Students will therefore not only focus on the skills required to manage projects effectively, but will also understand the wider application of how projects deliver strategic change, and how they interface with different disciplines in organisations.
The programme is delivered by teaching staff who have had extensive professional industry experience in the management of projects both in the United Kingdom and across the globe. Case studies of successful and failed projects, industry speakers and interactive technologies will make the programme engaging and interesting for students who enrol on the programme.
In addition to taught modules, students have the opportunity to do a dissertation which matches specific career aspirations. Alternatively, students have the opportunity to undertake a company internship (subject to meeting specific criteria1) which provides the chance to apply skills and management theory in carrying out real projects for host organisations.
The course also offers a module on project management methodologies which can lead to the Prince2 foundation certificate in project management (subject to passing the required exam), used extensively by the UK Government and widely recognised in the private sector, both in the UK and internationally.
Please note: Students will need to pass all Semester 1 modules and attend two compulsory employability skills workshops. After an interview with an internal panel of academics and formal presentation, successful students are selected by the host organisation.
