Course programme

The study of Psychology is underpinned with the study of main perspectives or approaches and debates. There is no singular cause of behaviour so it is important to consider the relative strengths and weaknesses of several approaches, such as biological, behavioural and psychodynamic. Psychologists employ a variety of methods when researching human behaviour, consequently it is necessary to learn about the relative merits of methods such as experimentation, interviews and case studies to name a few. In addition to the overarching theories and methods upon which the study of psychology is based students will learn to apply theories and methods to individual topics areas from different areas of psychology such as cognitive, social, developmental and mental health issues.
