This knowledge based nationally recognised qualification is designed for learners to develop an understanding of which substances are commonly misused and why. Learners will gain an understanding of how to recognise signs of substance misuse, the social and personal effects of substance misuse and the perceptions of and responces to substance misuse.
Learners can enrol onto this course 365 days a year. There are no previous skills required, no placement work needed and no classes to attend. Distance learning provides true flexibility for those with even the busiest of lifestyles.

About this course
The aim is to increase a students knowledge and develop a better understanding of the theory applied to the practical aspects of social, cognitive, development and adaptive behaviour
This home study course is aimed at those looking to gain an advanced understanding of the principles of psychology.
Students looking to enrol onto this course should meet the following criteria:
Be aged 16 Years or above
Possess a solid knowledge of the english language
Have access to a PC and the internet for the duration of the whole course
Basic computer skills: e.g Word processing, emailing, uploading documents etc
Have a genuine desire to succeed
GCSE Psychology grade A-B
Proof of completion of a previous psychology course or equivalent.
This course provides successful students with a fully recognised qualification from TQUK, listed on the RQF (Regulated Qualifications Framework). TQUK is recognised as an awarding organisation by the qualification regulators for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, who are: the office of the qualifications and examinations regulator (OFQUAL) in England, the Welsh Government and the council for curriculum, examinations and assessment (CCA) in Northern Ireland.

Learners will complete 1 unit of study in total as listed below.

- Know what common substances are commonly misused and why
- Understand the personal and social effects of substance misuse
- Understand perceptions of and responses to substance misuse
- Understand how healthy choices can be promoted and resiliance built
Learners will be required to complete a series of tutor marked assignments ( normally 1 after each unit) as they progress through this course. Each assignment will contain a variety of tasks/questions. These assignments are assessed by your tutor to monitor progress. You will be provided with constructive feedback to help you in completing each unit to the required standard.
