Brief description
The course will cover both teaching theory and practice. Teaching theory will include: The role, responsibilities and boundaries of a teacher/trainer in the lifelong learning sector. Teaching and learning approaches within your specialist subject area. Session planning. Inclusive teaching. Assessment methods & assessment records. Practical Element will involve: Micro teaching session. Peer assessment of micro teaching sessions. Suitable for: This course is suitable for: Anyone new to teaching, training or tutoring in the lifelong learning sector. Anyone who wants to be a teacher, trainer or tutor in the lifelong learning sector. Anyone working in a college that wants to update their teaching/training skills or needs to gain a teaching qualification.
Requirements
• A good standard of maths and English. • Hold a relevant vocational or academic qualification at Level 3 or above. • Do not hold any criminal convictions that would prevent you from working with young people or vulnerable adults,as a teacher, trainer or tutor. • All prospective students must attend an initial assessment, in order to assess levels of maths, English and ICT.
