Entry requirements:
You will normally need to have at least one of the following:
- A BTEC Foundation Certificate
- A standard of literacy and numeracy supported by 4 GCSEs at grade D
- Other related level 1 or 2 qualifications

Course assessment:
The course consists of 6 units, all of which are internally assessed - with no formal exams. Assignment work is varied and provides evidence of your understanding in each unit. Each unit is graded Pass, Merit or Distinction.
There are three core units you will have to complete alongside three other units. The core units include:
- Uniformed Public Service Employment; the roles, responsibilities, selection processes and career development of the public services.
- Public Service Skills; Analysing the importance of teamwork, communication skills and methods of instruction
- Uniformed Public Service Fitness; Researching health, fitness and nutrition, preparing for the fitness tests of a public service.

What will I learn?
The course has two strong elements. Firstly it is practically based and includes things like teambuilding exercises and fitness assessments. Alongside this you will be expected to research the Uniformed Public Services that you are considering for future employment. You will also be expected to develop a multitude of skills required for success in the Uniformed Public Services such as effective communication, leadership skills, and fitness.
