Additionally there are visits to Outdoor Activity centres where you can take part in a variety of outdoor activities and take part in overnight camps around Forest of Bowland. There are excellent enrichment opportunities working with the various uniformed services such as the 'Look at life' scheme.

This course is ideal for students looking for a career in public services, for example, HM Revenue and Customs, the police, fire and rescue services or armed services.

-Introduction to Fitness and Lifestyle for Working in the Public Services
-Personal Effectiveness for the Public Services
Diversity in the Public Services
-Social Responsibility and the Value of the Citizen in the Public Services
-Introduction to Health and Safety in the Public Services
-Practical Teamworking in the Public Services
-Introduction to Map Work and Navigation Skills for the Public Services
-Incidents and the Public Services
-Introduction to Dealing with the Public in the Emergency Services
Key skills in communication and IT will also be studied as an integral part of the course.
