This is an active and engaging one-year course which provides a good introduction for students interested in pursuing a career in the Uniformed Public Services: (The Uniformed Public Services are the Armed Forces, Police, Fire Service, Ambulance Service, Prison Service, H.M Revenue and Customs, Border Agency and Coastguard). You will take part in outdoor activities, carry out research projects and study situations that affect the public sector. The Course may be used as a stepping stone to the BTEC Nationals or other A Level equivalent courses or many varied employment opportunities within the Public Sector.

The course consists of the following Units:

Unit 01             -           Investigate employment in the uniformed services

Unit 02             -           Physical fitness for the uniformed services

Unit 03             -           Develop team working and problem solving skills

Unit 04             -           Health and Safety in the uniformed services

Unit 05             -           Health and hygiene in the uniformed services

Unit 06             -           Follow uniformed service routine

Unit 07             -           Exploring equality and diversity for the uniformed services

Unit 08             -           Carry out map reading and navigation

Unit 09             -           Undertake adventurous activities 

You will have a personal Tutor to guide you through your study programmes. They will also be able to provide you with pastoral support and career advice.
