QCF 90 Credit Diploma and Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production (Film and TV) - Level 3 Overview

This course is designed for those who may wish to pursue a professional career in the media.

At interview, we will discuss with you your entry qualifications, experience and career goals. This, along with your portfolio, will form the basis of your starting point on the Creative Media Production (Film and Television) Level 3 programme.

The 90 Credit Diploma is a one-year programme. However, following successful completion of the 90 Credit Diploma and appropriate achievement of other elements of the study programme, you may then be able to progress to a second year of study on the 180 Credit Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production (Film and Television).

The 90 Credit Diploma enables you to learn professional media production in our purpose-built environment. Use industry-standard equipment including HD cameras in our fully-equipped television studio and radio broadcast suite. Study film and television from around the world and learn to make your own film, news packages and get the chance to work on a weekly live production.

Learn the technical skills used in live production such as design, lighting design, live audio recording, Apple Mac editing and use software such as Adobe Premier. As well as this, you will also have the opportunity to create adverts for a range of industry clients. The very best in students' work is uploaded onto our TV channel - vision.tv

Continuing to the 180 Credit Diploma, you will be able to continue to develop you skills and understanding of the media industry. You'll work on live briefs and meet professionals from the media industry.

Study programmes

It is an entry requirement for some courses to have gained GCSEs A*-C in English and maths (see entry requirements). If the entry requirements to a course do not require A*-C in these subjects, and you haven’t already gained GCSEs A*-C in English and maths before joining us, you will continue to study English and maths as part of your programme and take appropriate qualifications in these subjects with the aim of achieving A* to C grade. In addition, to help you gain essential skills for employment, every student aged under 19 and studying a full-time course at college will take part in our study programmes alongside their main subject qualification. Find out more.
