Description
QSP provides these qualifications to encourage best practice. The awards are assessed to a national standard, allowing employees to develop the skills necessary to perform their role effectively. Each award can be tailored to the role an employee performs during their normal day to day activities and covers all aspects of waste collection.
Waste Management Officers are constantly seeking to improve the services they provide to ensure that value for money is achieved. A qualified workforce will not only enhance productivity but also promote a positive image of their organisation.
Method of Delivery
Practical assessment of candidates' on-site competence conducted by a qualified and experienced Awarding Body approved Assessor.
Recognition
On successful completion of these qualifications candidates receive an NVQ Certificate of Achievement along with their portfolio which has recorded their achievement to keep as reference.
Level 1
Designed for operatives working in waste collection.
Mandatory Units - candidates must demonstrate competence in:
* Contributing to the maintenance of a healthy and safe working Environment
* Compliance with emergency procedures
* Contributing to the maintenance of the quality of the organisation's work
* Maintaining effective working relationships through team working
In addition candidates will have to choose 3 optional units from an accredited list according to job responsibilities.
Level 2
Designed for operatives with additional responsibilities for operations and people.
Mandatory Units -candidates must demonstrate competence in:
* Promoting and maintaining the quality of the organisation's work
* Contributing to the maintenance of a healthy and safe working environment
* Developing and maintaining effective working relations
* Working in a team
* Maintaining information systems to support work
* Complying with emergency procedures
