Rail Incident Response and Recovery
Rail Incident Response and Recovery In the event of a significant incident, failure or irregularity occurring on railway infrastructure, the ability to control the impact and achieve recovery is dependant upon the implementation of a cohesive and effective incident response plan. This two day training event combines industry best practice with company specific directives in order to develop the knowledge and confidence of those responsible for leading the response to an incident. The course can be adapted to ensure its suitability to a range of personnel including those responsible for functions such as incident command and control, on site activities and provision of customer care. The course covers the following subject areas: · Major Incident Response Planning · Incident Response Structure · Incident Response Roles and Responsibilities · Customer Welfare during an Incident · Railway Accident Theory (Derailment/SPAD/Collision) · Signalling, Track and Traction Unit Failures and Irregularities · Investigation /Collection and Preservation of Evidence · Incident Recovery Delegates are required to participate in a workshop which combines subject theory and practical exercises. The training provided covers all significant aspects of rail industry standards and guidance, including those applicable to Incident Officers and Train Operators' Liaison Officers (TOLO). Attendance on this course can be used as method of providing evidence of competence and certification in incident management roles. Where necessary, the course can be combined with training in 'Incident Investigation and Causal Analysis' to provide a comprehensive grounding in incident management and investigation techniques.
