Receiving Supervision Who this course is designed for?
Whilst this course is primarily designed for people working in Social Care with all adult client groups, much of the material will be of use to and appropriate for people working in other areas of care and support.
Receiving Supervision can be a confusing business for all concerned as many Supervisors have had no training at all and likewise many Supervisees have little idea as what to expect.
Supervision can make an extraordinary difference to the work life of a Supervisee as it provides the professional support that workers need to do the best job possible.
Under the umbrella of National Care Standards Supervision is now a legal requirement.
The course largely addresses work in residential settings, however much of it will translate into other areas of social care e.g. Day Services.
Please note that this course is not designed for people working with children or younger people as it does not address the very specific legislation that underpins this work.
This course would be particularly useful to people undertaking longer term training programmes and may be used as evidence of prior learning e.g. for NVQ's and the LDAF. This course would also be appropriate for those working towards the Norman Mark Diploma in Residential Care.
About this course
Training in Receiving Supervision has been delivered by Norman Mark and colleagues to many thousands of people in classroom situations. This adapted version is now available to you on line.
It would be misleading to suggest that this course would be the same as you would experience in a live training session, however we do believe that the advantages of training on-line do compensate. Training on line means that you will be able to undertake this course at your own pace and at a time when you are most available for learning.
