The Reflexology course teaches you about the theory behind this treatment and the power of touch. Modern reflexology treatment provides deep relaxation, revitalised energy, stress relief, preventative healthcare and balance to the systems of the body. During the practical training, you will learn how to carry out reflexology treatments on a variety of models.
By the end of the course students will be understand the theory relevant to the reflexology therapy as well as being able to complete a professional reflexology treatment with confidence. Students who undertake the Reflexology course will learn the anatomy relevant to foot and ankle. Students will understand the history behind reflexology as well as understanding the reflexology map in relation to the parts of the body and how this is reflected on the feet.
On the reflexology course you will be taught the importance of exercising the fingers, so that a professional reflexology treatment can be completed with confidence. Students will be conversant with the contra-indications to treatment.
All students by the end of the course will need to demonstrate that they know each of the reflex points and indicate where these are in relation to symptoms being experienced by the client.

THEORY: REFLEXOLOGY
A theory module relating to the course is sent to the student prior to attendance. The time spent learning this module will be dependent on the student. There will be an exam based on this module conducted at the end of the practical training.
PRACTICAL: 2 days

• The importance of personal appearance
• Pressure points on the feet and the effect they have on the body
• Identify your client’s needs
• Importance of using British National Formula (BNF)
• Contra-Indications
• How to carry out treatment
• How to deal with adverse reactions to treatments
• Setting up a Practice
• Client care throughout treatment and after-care
• Preparation of the client and work area
• The importance of taking a full case history of your client will enable you to carry out prescriptive treatment for the individual
