ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
The
award reflects the varied size, nature and organisational setting of adult
care services and the diverse roles of the manager. You do not
necessarily need to hold formal qualifications to do this however;
experience in a managerial position is essential for the course.
WHAT
YOU STUDY:
You are assessed in 10 areas 4 of which are core:
Developing
and maintaining evaluation systems and structures, Managing services to
deliver optimum outcomes for individuals, Managing uses of financial
resources, Team and individual management
OPTIONAL UNITS
There
are wide ranges of other areas from which you select six, for example:
Contribute
to improvements at work, contribute to provision of physical, social and
emotional environments, ensure individuals and groups are supported when
experiencing significant life events, take responsibility for you business
performance and the continuing development of self and others, select
personnel for activities., provide information to support decision making,
facilitate meetings, monitor compliance with quality systems.
You
can also choose units form the assessor and verifier units D32/D33/D34 or
the new A, A2 and V1 units.
HOW YOU STUDY:
Experience
of work in a care environment. Collection of evidence of competence and
preparation of portfolio, class work and reading.

COMPLETION YOU WILL BE ABLE TO:
After successfully
completing this course, which is a management qualification specifically,
developed for the health and social care sector. You will be well prepared
for emerging regulatory requirements in services for older people and
young adults, including people with learning disabilities and those with
mental health problems.
You will be fully competent in ensuring
effective delivery of the new National Care Standards (NCS)
