Working with Couples

In this workshop, The teacher will present a variety of ways in which a TA (Transactional Analysis)therapist can diagnose and work effectively with couples who seek relationship counselling or therapy. We shall explore the ways in which games are played in couples with the unconscious desire to find fulfilment and wholeness by join-ing with someone who will manifest the disowned parts of us. We shall look at the significant script im-plications for the choice of partner and at ways of working with the transference and primal wounds in couples work. Treatment strategies for couples work will be introduced and practised, including three-handed contract-making and specific interventions for facilitating movement from game-playing into in-timacy, using "Response-Ability" technique.

For qualified TA professionals this workshop meet the criteria set by UKCP for Continuing Professional Development. A certificate of attendance will be provided on request.
