Relationships & Boundaries Who this course is designed for? Whilst this course is primarily designed for people working in Social Care with all adult client groups, much of the material will be of use to and appropriate for people working in other areas of care and support.
The course largely addresses work in residential settings, however much of it will translate into other areas of social care e.g. Day Services.
Please note that this course is not designed for people working with children or younger people as it does not address the very specific legislation that underpins this work.
This course would be particularly useful to people undertaking longer term training programmes and may be used as evidence of prior learning e.g. for NVQ's and the LDAF. This course would also be appropriate for those working towards the Norman Mark Diploma in Residential Care.
A considerable amount of information provided in this course is duplicated in our Key Working course and therefore it may not be suitable for someone who has completed this.
About this course
Training in Boundaries and Good Practice (and Professional Relationships) has been delivered by Norman Mark and colleagues to many thousands of people in classroom situations. This adapted version is now available to you on line.
It would be misleading to suggest that this course would be the same as you would experience in a live training session, however we do believe that the advantages of training on-line do compensate. Training on line means that you will be able to undertake this course at your own pace and at a time when you are most available for learning.
The Overall aim of the course
This course aims to help learners understand the complexities of Boundaries & Relationships in a Social Care context. Poor awareness can lead to service users being regarded in an undignified way and their rights being abused. Good awareness can assist in the delivery of a high standard of support and care.
There are no easy answers and this course will encourage the practitioner to think through the issues with more care and sensitivity.
