AS Religious Studies is the natural A Level choice for students who are interested in an academic approach to studying religion, its teachings and how religion influences the surrounding world. It is the perfect subject for those with an enquiring mind and an enthusiasm for studying religion and it is aimed at anyone who wishes to develop their knowledge and understanding and skills appropriate to a specialist study of religion and ethics.

Course programme
Entry Requirements
You will need at least 5 GCSEs grade C or above. In addition to this, you will need at least a grade B in English Language.
Delivery and Assessment
You will be assessed with two 1.5 hour examinations at the end of the course. Throughout the course itself, there will be frequent essays and mock exams.
Progression
Like many A Levels, the subject is there to help you gain the grades you need to move on to university and further study, including courses in Theology, Religious Studies, Philosophy, Law, Sociology and the Social Sciences. This in turn will lead to a variety of careers, from teaching to journalism, business and advertising, radio and television to politics.
