This is a linear qualification In order to achieve the award, students must complete all assessments at the end of the course and in the same series

What will I learn?

You will study philosophy of religion and ethics, religion and society; covering key moral principles and religious identity, along with issues of human life and death, issues of animal life and death and ethical theories

How will I be assessed?

There are 2 assessed components; philosophy of religion and ethics, religion and society There is a total of 2hrs and 45 minutes of examination, one of one hour and one of one hour and forty five minutes In each examination there is an essay component - and thus students will be assess throughout the course with essays and writing skills

What may it lead to?

The course is a good basis for reading theology or philosophy at university These degrees are broad, leading to many careers and further study The A level enables students to begin to tackle the key concepts with regard to the meaning of existence and the degree courses add to and enhance this, encouraging independent thought and moral decision making Students gain critical and evaluative skills sought by higher education and employers ??? particularly in law, education, social work, politics, medicine, administration and the media

Entry Requirements

5 GCSE's at A*-C and preferably a B in English
