Course programme
What are the secrets used by professional photographers? How do we create beautiful photo-stories?
This established course aims to introduce to the secrets of reportage photography.
Reportage Photography has become a popular ways to communicate stories, trends, and topics of journalistic nature. Photographers such as Martin Parr and Sebastiao Salgado have become very successful by applying strategies and skills traditionally used by professional photographers over the years, adding their own unique style.
During the course, students and tutor will work together to approach several photographic briefs in a professional way, from concept to realisation.
Subjects covered include:
- How to start a research project
- How to identify and select good concepts, themes and ideas
- Planning a photo-session
- Setting the camera correctly while on location
- Deciding when and how to use flashes and reflectors
- Overcome fear of approaching people
- How to select the best photographs and create photo-narrative
The course will terminate with a full exhibition of all work produced.
