You will be provided with the knowledge to ensure safe and effective exercise programming for clients with a number of medical conditions and common reasons for referral onto a community-based exercise referral scheme. You will complete 3 units: Unit 1 Principles of Physical Activity and Exercise Referral. Unit 2 Medical Conditions, Treatment and Safe and Effective Exercise Programming. Unit 3 Professional Practice and Processes in Exercise Referral. Suitable for: Instructors who wish to design and implement programmes of exercise for GP referred clients.

About this course

Candidates must hold a Level 3 Certificate in Advanced Fitness Instructing Gym, Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training or equivalent.

This qualification is designed to provide you with the knowledge to ensure safe and effective exercise programming for clients with a number of medical conditions and common reasons for referral onto a community-based exercise referral scheme.

You will complete 3 units:

Unit 1 – Principles of Physical Activity and Exercise Referral
Unit 2 – Medical Conditions, Treatment and Safe and Effective Exercise Programming
Unit 3 – Professional Practice and Processes in Exercise Referral

You must be REPS 3 qualified in Personal Training or equivalent before taking this course.

There is one study day at our club venue, then one theory assessment day. You will also complete worksheets and a case study to be assessed by your course tutor.
