The MRes aims to assist participants to become: Skilled in the rigorous formulation of research questions and their translation into practical research designs. Course programme

The Master of Research (MRes) is gained through successful completion of seven taught courses undertaken in the School of Education and the School of Social Science and a dissertation reporting on research of approximately 15,000 words. The taught courses involve the acquisition at Masters level of a number of research skills within a context focusing on an understanding of research within educational settings.

  • Educational research design: method, analysis and interpretation. (30 credits SCQF Level 11)
