Retail

On successful completion, you may progress to;

• an Advanced Apprenticeship in Retail
• employment as a Sales Assistant or Stock Room Assistant
• Senior Sales Assistant or Team Supervisor (following further training and development)
• specialist roles such as warehousing or cash office administration.

As an apprentice you will gain valuable experience and occupational competence within your workplace setting. You will be employed and, under supervision, your job would be either:

• A Sales or Stockroom Assistant - your Apprenticeship will involved helping customers to choose products, dealing with customer queries and processing payments in a range of retail environments, helping to provide a positive and seamless service and to advise and support customers in the use of web-based fcilities available to them in-store.
• A Stockroom Assistant - this Apprenticeship will involve handling stock and deliveries, receiving, storing and picking stock for the sales floor.

You will need to achieve a minimum of 48 credits from completing mandatory units and a selection of optional units. The optional units will be decided in negotiation with your assessor and employer and are based on your job role within your organisation.

You will also need to complete a functional skills level 1 in maths and English, Employment Responsibilities and Rights and Personal Learning and Thinking Skills.
