Who is the course for?
This course is for any person working in the road passenger vehicle driving (community transport) industry, obviously with the approved driving license for the vehicle on which you are employed.

What is the course about?
There are 9 units in total made up, these are made up of 7 Mandatory Units and 2 Optional Units:

Mandatory
* Ensure the health & Safety in your work environment in the road passenger transport industry.
* Drive community transport, chauffeured, taxi or private hire vehicles safely and efficiently.
* Provide professional customer service in the community transport, chauffeur, taxi and private hire vehicle industries.
* Deal effectively with difficult passengers
* Deal with emergencies and incidents during a journey transporting passengers in the community transport, chauffeur, taxi and private hire behicle industries.
* Provide a transport service in the community transport, chauffeur, taxi and private hire vehicle industries and passengers who require assistance.
* Achieve effective working relationships wioth colleagues in the road passenger transport industry.

Optional (Examples)
* Transport children and young persons by taxi, private hire or chauffeuring.
* Implement defensive driving in the road passenger transport industry.

Will I need anything else?
Funded through Train to Gain with 100% fee remission if eligible (normal course fee is 550)

How long & often do I attend?
Start Date: Throughout the year.

How will I be assessed?
Riverside College Halton Assessors will work with you on a regular basis to support and conduct work based assessments.

What opportunities will this lead to?
Successful candidates may wish to progress onto higher level NVQ or further education.
