Rock School/Access to Music
Exam Board: Rock School
Aim To provide a flexible and vocationally relevant popular music qualification which will provide skills to develop realistic employment opportunities in the music industry. Delivery and assessment are focused on practical music making and production.
This course is an alternative to an AS subject and students will take the Level 2 or 3 Award for Music Practitioners.
Content Students will have the option of 4 routes to gain this qualification
· As a performing musician (electric guitar, bass guitar, drums or keyboards)
· As a vocal artist
· As a creative music producer
· As an urban/dance musician.
Level 2 Award for Music Practitioners
· Unit 1 - Music rehearsal skills or composing music
· Unit 2 - Live music performance or live sound recording.
Level 3 Award for Music Practitioners
· Unit 1 - Music rehearsal skills or composing music or arranging music
· Unit 2 - Live music performance or live sound recording.
An audition is required. There will be a 3-hour session each week with several live performances during the year.
