Overview
This course will be of benefit to internal auditors considering how they can add value to their organisations by taking a more proactive role in the fight against fraud.
The risk of fraud is ever increasing in all businesses and internal audit can be a valuable preventative control to help combat fraud. Indeed in several widely reported frauds, Internal Audit has been the team that flagged up the initial concern. This course will explore the different roles that Internal Audit could take in the ongoing fight against fraud ranging from the more traditional role (incorporating work as part of the annual audit plan) to branching to a more proactive role, providing fraud awareness to staff and doing proactive fraud reviews.
Topics covered on this course will include
- What should Internal Audit do as a minimum?
- Anti fraud and corruption policies and strategy
- Helping to raise ‘Fraud awareness’ in the organisation
- Whistle blowing and confidential reporting lines
- Cautioning, investigating and interviewing
