This hands-on, practical filmmaking workshop offers an introduction to filmmaking for small groups of students in schools. The Rough Cut Workshop focusses on the creative skills and choices necessary to filmmaking. Students get the inside track on how images are used to tell stories, and how the visual choices a filmmaker makes impact on the viewer. Suitable for: Pupils aged 12-18
About this course
Our requirements are minimal. We need space to work in large enough to accommodate all the pupils and projection facilities.

Students learn in the best way possible - by getting behind the camera themselves! The morning sessions includes an introduction to careers in filmmaking, followed by dynamicexercises in screenwriting, in-camera editing and camera operation. The afternoon sees studentsworking in teams to complete a short film, each film receiving feedback and the chance to win acoveted Best Film Award! An excellent introduction to practical filmmaking for students studying film/filmmaking as a module,Diploma or extra-curricular activity.
