AQF III in Roof Tiling RPL
This is for anyone who has a minimum of 4 years work experience in the relevant trade and wants to gain an internationally recognised qualification in the construction industry. The qualification would be an AQF III in Roof Tiling. This is the minimum qualification requires by TRA
The Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Process
Step 1: Have an initial discussion with Silver Trowel to determine if you would qualify to be assessed via the RPL pathway. Generally, those clients who have years of industry experience and/or trade qualifications would be suitable for the RPL package.
Step 2: You wiil need pay the application fee prior to receiving the package. The packages can be obtained via Silver Trowel/Comet Training..
Step 3: You fill in the package and obtains as much evidence to support your competencies against each core unit contained within the qualification, and the required number of elective units. Evidence can include and is not limited to: detailed outline of employment history; references from customers or employers; photographic evidence of work; certified copies of certificates and trade papers; etc.
Step 4: Once the package is completed you need to return it to Silver Trowel for assessment. If insufficient evidence is provided we will contact you and request more information. If you are deemed suitable for an on-site assessment, we will contact you and arrange a suitable date to conduct the assessment. Payment for the on-site assessment will need to be paid prior to the assessment taking place.
Step 5: A qualified assessor will undertake an on-site assessment. This may include and is not limited to practical demonstration of skills and competencies and a competencies conversation. If your client successfully passes each unit of competence then they will be awarded with the appropriate AQF certificate.
If you cannot demonstrate the competencies against each core unit and required number of elective units, we will not be able to issue you with the AQF Certification. Whilst every effort is made in the process to ensure this does not occur, we are obligated to ensure transparency in assessment in accordance with AQTF standards. If you do not agree with the outcome you can lodge an appeal with Silver Trowel/ Comet Training and the evidence will be reviewed.
Step 6: Silver Trowel/ Comet Training will issue Certificates to clients who are deemed competent.
