Russian Improvers

Your Course
This 10 week course is suitable for those who have already studied Russian for about a year. During the course all language skills - listening, speaking, reading and writing - will be developed and practised. A variety of topics, authentic materials and interactive activities are used to expand and enrich students' vocabulary, grammar and cultural knowledge. The course book is:"Teach Yourself Russian", a complete course by Daphne M West.
During the term students will take a short internal assessment at Asset at Preliminary level (Grade 5). This will help them prepare for the OCR Asset Language Preliminary level test that will be taken in June 2010.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the 10 week course you will have been given the opportunity to:
· Talk about, dates, and daily routine
· Discuss weather
· Talk about past events and actions, and discuss hopes, intentions, and future actions
· Hold conversation on the phone
· Express how you feel and ask others how they feel
· Talk about appearance and clothes: size, colour, comparison
· Greet people on special occasions, and express appreciation and thanks
· Make hypothetical statements and statements contrary to the fact
· Discuss arrangements for holidays
· Compose formal and informal letters
· Further expand understanding and practice of various grammar topics
Your tutor
Anna Nerukh graduated from Kharkov State Polytechnic University, Ukraine. She is a native Russian speaker with work experience in USA and UK. She teaches Russian at King's School in Ely and Cambridge Russian School for Children. She has experience in translating scientific papers including books and teaching and taking examinations in the Russian language at GCSE and A level.

Tuition fees: £100
Method of payment: Fees for short courses (10 weeks or less) to be paid in full at enrolment and for long courses (12 weeks or more) fees of 50% can be paid at enrolment plus 50% as a cheque. Course places cannot be reserved without receipt of both payments.
Half term:
Please note that there are no classes during half term Monday 15th - Friday 19th February 2010 unless otherwise stated.
