Safe Slinging & Lifting Appreciation

Overview

The course is designed to provide an understanding of the theory and rating of lifting slings, an overview of legislation as it applies to users and an appreciation of types of slings and how to carry out routine pre-use inspection.

The foundation of all courses is (221) Safe Slinging & Lifting Appreciation. Trainees receive a solid understanding of safe lifting procedures from which, if required, they can then specialise by carrying on to complete further practical modules (223, 224 & 225).

All candidates will complete a multiple-choice test covering the key points of the course. A candidate achieving a total score of less than 80% will meet with the trainer to explore their knowledge of the topic. Where a candidate has a good knowledge of the topic the result may be amended.

Your course will normally consist of a half day theory based module followed by an appropriate half day practical enhancement module (e.g. Practical Slinging Beneath the Hook). A detailed module sheet with the syllabus for each course is available on request.
